Payment Policy

At Lucia Naturalis, we offer cash-based services, and payment is required at the time of your appointment. Clients are welcome to use their HSA (Health Savings Account) toward their care with me. I have chosen not to align with insurance companies. In this, I have found that my clients are more compliant and generate great health outcomes when they invest in their own health. While you are welcome to independently submit a claim, I will happily provide you with a superbill or any documentation you request.

We securely keep card information on file to ensure a seamless payment process and to prevent missed appointments.

By engaging in our services, patients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by Lucia Naturalis’ payment policies.

This payment policy is designed to ensure clarity and transparency regarding financial matters, providing both the healthcare provider and the patient with a clear understanding of expectations.

Cancellation Policy

To respect the time of everyone, we have a cancellation policy in place. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, kindly provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to avoid any charges.

For cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment will incur a fee equivalent to half of the scheduled visit.

For a “no call/no show,” also known as a missed appointment will be charged the full visit fee.

We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may arise, and exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We appreciate your understanding, and while we wish for more flexibility in our scheduling and ability to absorb costs when patients cancel last-minute, implementing policies is crucial for sustaining our business and ensuring continued service. We genuinely love our work, and your business and patronage are immensely appreciated.

Late arrival policy:

The purpose of these policies is to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of services to all patients. If you anticipate being late, please notify me as soon as possible.

Late arrival is defined as joining a scheduled appointment after the designated start time.

I appreciate your commitment to our scheduled appointments and respect for everyone's time. To ensure the smooth running of our sessions, please be aware of the following late arrival policy:

A 10 minutes grace period: A grace period of 10 minutes will be allowed for late arrivals. If the patient joins the appointment within the specified grace period, the appointment may proceed but will be shortened accordingly. This is to ensure fairness to clients with following appointments, kindly inform me promptly if you expect to be delayed.

Cancellation for 15 minutes or more late: Appointments arriving 15 minutes or more after their scheduled start time will be considered canceled and incur our cancellation fee.

Exceptions may be considered in the following cases:

Patient's request: if a patient still wishes to be seen despite a late arrival, the session may proceed, but will be shortened accordingly.

No impact on schedule: If your late arrival does not affect the schedule or subsequent appointments the patient may be seen for the full appointment time at the discretion of the provider.

Modification of Policy: We reserve the right to modify this late arrival policy as needed, with notice to patients.

Acknowledgement: by scheduling a telehealth appointment, patients acknowledge that they have read, understood and agree to abide by this late arrival policy

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. These policies are in place to provide quality service to all clients and maintain the integrity of our schedule. If you have any questions or need to discuss specific circumstances, please feel free to contact me in advance. I look forward to our continued work together

FAQS

What is Naturopathic medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a system of healthcare that emphasizes natural, least invasive, and least toxic therapies to treat illness, and promotes wellness by treating the whole person. It is based on a set of six principles that guide naturopathic practitioners in their approach to patient care. And, above all, it honors the body’s innate wisdom to heal, giving patients tools for lifelong wellness. These principles are:

First, Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere): Naturopathic physicians prioritize using the least invasive and least harmful interventions necessary to promote healing. They carefully evaluate the potential risks and benefits of any treatment, and they aim to minimize any potential side effects or harm to the patient. NDs will refer when the patient’s presentation is outside their scope or level of skill.

Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam): Naturopathic doctors recognize that there is a time and place for symptom suppression, however we seek to identify a patients underlying cause of illness, and remove obstacles to cure. This involves considering factors such as lifestyle, diet, environment, and emotional well-being.

Treat the Whole Person: Naturopathic medicine considers the individual as a whole, acknowledging that physical health is intricately linked with mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Practitioners take into account an individual’s physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, and social factors when crafting treatment plans, all in the pursuit of achieving optimal health.

The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae): This principle acknowledges the body’s inherent wisdom to heal itself. The role of the naturopathic physician is to support and facilitate this process by identifying and removing obstacles to recovery and fostering a healthy internal and external environment.

Doctor as Teacher (Docere): Naturopathic doctors see themselves as educators. We understand that through education and a trust-based relationship, patients will better understand the steps needed to achieve health. Therefore, our aim is to empower patients with the knowledge and tools so that they can take responsibility for their own health. This involves providing information about healthy living, nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle choices.

Prevention: Naturopathic medicine affirms that it is better to prevent illness and suffering whenever possible. This involves combing all six principles in order to identify potential areas of imbalance and teach patients how to get and stay well.

These principles collectively guide naturopathic physicians in providing holistic and patient-centered care. We aim to promote overall well-being and vitality of an individual to enhance their quality of life.
